My adult life has been spent searching for healing. Name a self-help book and I’ve read it. Mention a type of therapy and I’ve done it.
However, by the time I was in my late 40s I felt that all that hard work had amounted to almost nothing. I still felt broken and had decided that perhaps there was nothing to be done about that.
Then a dear friend introduced me to a fresh, new way of looking at life and understanding how being human really works. I read a book or two about this new psychological paradigm and finally – finally! – things began to shift for me. Very quickly I felt more at peace inside my own skin. Less anxious, less panicked about life and money and work, much more calm, quiet and settled.
And all I had to do to achieve this was listen.
No mantras to repeat.
Nothing to practice or memorize.
No techniques or tricks.
